It’s included in every room. Everything hot is cooked to order in the farmhouse kitchen, and most of what’s on the plate comes from within five miles of the house.

Anna’s granola
Oats, nuts and honey, baked here every Monday.
Yoghurt and fruit
Greek yoghurt with berries from the garden in summer and poached rhubarb in spring.
Toast and preserves
Sourdough or seeded from the village bakery, with local honey and Anna’s marmalade.
Juice, tea and coffee
Apple juice pressed in the dale, loose-leaf tea and a pot of fresh coffee.

Bacon and sausages from the farm shop, two free-range eggs, black pudding, mushrooms, tomato and beans.
The garden breakfast
Halloumi, mushrooms, tomato, beans, hash brown and eggs. Ask and we’ll make it vegan.
Eggs your way
Poached, scrambled or fried, on sourdough, with smoked salmon if you like.
Smoked haddock
With a poached egg and wilted spinach. Order it the night before.
Porridge
Oats and milk, with honey, cream or a dash of whisky.
Pancakes
With bacon and maple syrup, or berries and yoghurt.
Gluten-free bread, oat milk and vegan sausages are always in. Tell us about allergies when you book.



The rest of the day
Lunch for the hills, supper on quiet nights.
Packed lunches
£9.50 each: a sandwich, fruit, flapjack and your flask filled. Order by 8pm the night before.
Supper trays
£18 on Sunday and Monday nights, when the pub kitchens close early. Soup, a pie and pudding.
Honesty bar
Local ales, wine and soft drinks in the lounge. Write it in the book and settle up when you leave.
